What I Worked On This Week

Been an okay writing week. Nothing spectacular, nothing bad. ;-)

Active writing:

Tag Team: Fais Do Do -- m/m novel. This one's moving fast. Will definitely need rewrites.

The Terms of Release -- m/m novel. Still toodling along like a house afire.

Hammer and Tongs -- m/m Western. On first sex scene.

m/m/f novel (co-write with Julia) -- fun, sexy menage. This one's on hold until J and I hit some deadlines.

Don't Mess with Hexes -- m/m/f novella -- book two of the Cowbell, Book and Candle series. I don't know, y'all... This one's giving me fits. I may have to start over. AGAIN. *sighs*

In edits/rewrites:

The Four Horsemen: Ace and Kitty -- still waiting.

Next up:

Need to make a decision on whether DMwH is fixable and finish-able by Jan 1. If so, focus on it. If not, find another hot idea and write like the wind.

;-)

Much love, y'all.

What I Worked on This Week

Allergies are kicking my butt and I only have one more week of normalcy before my best friend shows up for Thanksgiving. O.o

Active writing:

Tag Team: Fais Do Do -- m/m novel. Ah, the falling in love phase.

The Terms of Release -- m/m novel. Have already cried twice on this one...

Hammer and Tongs -- m/m Western. With kink

m/m/f novel (co-write with Julia) -- fun, sexy menage with were cats :D

Don't Mess with Hexes -- m/m/f novella -- book two of the Cowbell, Book and Candle series. It's due in Jan. 1, so the file is open. This is the second time I've written this one (the first one is a loss). :P

In edits/rewrites:

The Four Horsemen: Ace and Kitty -- through with my read, Julia's reading and commenting, then to beta for more before rewrites.

Next up:

Same song, same tune. No changes here.

;-)

Much love, y'all.

What I Worked on This Week

Man, I am glad to be home, I just wish all my laundry was done... ;-)

Active writing:

Tag Team: Fais Do Do -- m/m novel. This one is different than I expected. Landon's less experienced, Tag's grumpier. I love it when the boys surprise you.

The Terms of Release -- m/m novel. This is one of those surprise books that I only work on for an hour a day because it's not on the schedule. OMG, y'all. This boy is broke.

Hammer and Tongs -- m/m Western. Still toddling along. There promises to be naughtiness. :D

m/m/f novel (co-write with Julia) -- fun, sexy menage with were cats, they're STILL in the middle of their first sex scene.

In edits/rewrites:

The Four Horsemen: Ace and Kitty -- I didn't get a chance to look at these guys this week, again-again-again-again-again-again. O.o (Okay, I have shame...) However, I promised my beta she'd have it November 1, so it's happening.
What She Wants is back from editing, so I know what I'm doing today.

Next up:

Same song, same tune. No changes here.

;-)

Much love, y'all.

What I've Been Researching

Shutterstock 102196498

Yup. Folk magic.

I'm writing on the second in the Cowbell, Book and Candle series and Sara May's cowboys informed me that hoodoo was their thing.

Hoodoo is fascinating, especially that there are so many versions -- Cajun, African, European. I'm focusing on the bayou version, so that Jules can do his thing and get his gran's suitcase back.

What set me on this path? The fact that conjuring hands are made, but they have to be fed to work.

Isn't that a great thought? That you have to feed the magic?

*sparkles*

Y'all have a fab day. I'm going to scribble and watch my birds.

*kisses*

My Boys Touch

There's been a little confusion going around and I figured I'd just be upfront.

I write gay romance. I write lesbian romance. I write het romance. I write threesomes -- lately I'm writing a *lot* of threesomes because they're what wants written.

I don't write m/f/m.

Now, am I saying I don't like it? Nope. I read it. A couple of my favorite authors write it and I enjoy it thoroughly.

Do I typically buy that 3 (or 4 or 5 or 6) people can all be in bed having sex and none of the same sex people in the bed are attracted to each other? Not usually, no, but that's me (and I can tell you, the only time it throws me out of a story as a reader is when there are 3 or more men and 1 woman and they have to take turns sleeping with her in twos because they might touch each other. That always makes me sad).

That's not even what it's about for me when I'm writing.

When I'm writing, I have be honest to *my* muse. To my characters. I love m/m. Love it. Love it enough that I started Torquere Press damn near 9 years ago to publish it because no one else would. In my mind's eye, characters fall in love and I have zero control over the sex(es) of the folk(s) they fall in love with. My boys fall in love -- with the girl, absolutely, but also with each other. Three people who are in love together and, damn it, they're going to be in love together at the end, too.

I'm a sap. I want my HEA -- reading or writing. And, yeah, if there's a menage threesome (or moresome, although I haven't done that yet and the pronoun confusion there sort of makes me dizzy), my boys will touch.

Reader beware. ;-)
